Getting married in Australia

If you want to legally be married in Australia you need to be adults, un-married, un-related and willing - I’m guessing you’re all of those things so what you need to know now is that there’s a form you both need to fill out which your Celebrant will send to you called a NOIM - Notice of intended Marriage. This form needs to be witnessed and signed then lodged a minimum of one month before your marriage date.

When you book at Faithwood with a Package that includes a Celebrant this NOIM form is included. We recommend picking your elopement date, signing and lodging the form and then planning your elopement details. Sacred Heart & Faithwood Packages both include a Celebrant. You can also book the Mary Package and BYO Celebrant.

Hannah and I signed our form in from of a Justice of the Peace at the Hamra Library in West Torrens.
